About the Car

Mike’s 1969 Porsche 912 rolled off the assembly line on May 13, 1969, very late in the model year, and was delivered to Mike on June 25, 1969.

The car was built on a Karmann 911 chassis, complete with two battery boxes, 911 suspension fittings and heavy duty cable harnesses.

It was a daily driver until 1976 but by 1980, neglect was taking its toll and the car could not be driven safely.  That's when Mike put it in a garage for the next 25 years.

Starting in May of 2005,  the car was essentially rebuilt, modernized and even improved in certain respects over the next year and a half.

You’ll see the end result in Mike’s books about his travels in this classic sports car.
