Michael R. "Mike" Newlon retired in 2005 after parallel careers in corporate management and the U.S. Army Reserve (USAR).
He graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 1967 with a B.S. in Business and enlisted in the USAR in May of 1968.
Since his first trip to central Mexico in 1968, he has traveled widely in the United States and abroad.
Mike was placed on the Army of the United States (AUS) Retired List in March of 2005.
In August of '05, Mike retired from his position as Safety Director for a nationwide construction services company.
When he is not on the road with his Porsche, or writing about his latest adventure in it, Mike enjoys reading popular adventure novels and 20th century history.
Mike is happily married and lives in Palm Desert, California.
